Cool (cheap) Programs for Mac OS X
GraphicConverter - A pretty powerful image editor for $35, useful for manipulating and performing minor edits on pictures.
iChat - the AOL Instant Messenger client that I use. Waiting for file transfer to come to Adium.
Interarchy - This is a very stable and full-featured FTP program, which I use to update this website. I also use its competitors, Fetch and Transmit.
Launchbar - Without a doubt the most useful program EVER released for OS X. This product allows you to access almost any file or program from anywhere on your machine simply by hitting a hotkey and typing its name. It even learns which names are more common.
Meteorologist - A menu bar item which shows the weather, temperature, and week's forecast, among other things. A must-have for people with blackout curtains.
MPlayer - A media player that plays just about everything, including quicktime and windows media files.
Safari - My internet browser of choice. Now with tabbed browsing.
Computer-Oriented Websites
Apple - where all of you should buy your computers. The ultimate geek window-shopping experience.
Digital Blasphemy - Cool background pictures for your computer!
Mac News Network (MacNN) - the most comprehensive Mac news site I know of. If you're interested in other news sites, you can check out MacCentral or The Mac Observer.
Slashdot - a site dedicated to "news for nerds". The closest I get to daily news. Its a big linux site, so be careful what you say.
Versiontracker - A place to download freeware and shareware, and it even notifies me when new versions of commercial software are available to, um, "purchase".
